Thursday January 12th, Day 9 in the hospital

Stopped by to say 'hi' to Det this morning before moving the rest of his furniture out of his apartment (with the help of some professionals). Detlef was feeling better this morning after relieving himself of something like 12 liters of fluid over night (the steroids and IVs had him extremely hydrated). The infection was still present in his central line so they still had plans to move to a PICC line.

The oncologist also stopped by to see how Det was doing. He confirmed that the cytogenetics report wasn't particularly helpful in Det's case because he had unique results (e.g., different chromosomes had different issues than other cases seen). So the goal is still to look for either a marrow donation from me or from the national registry.

My mom and dad have been there today so may update things based on the stuff done during the day.
